IU squares off against familiar opponent, Kentucky

DES MOINES, Ia. (WISH) – The Indiana Hoosiers square-off against long-time rival Kentucky in the second round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament.

This is the 57th meeting of the familiar foes happens after the Hoosiers successfully knocked off Chattanooga in the first round 99-75.

The Kentucky Wildcats defeated the Seawolves of Stony Brook 85-57 in the first round.

The winner of Saturday night’s meeting in Des Moines between the bitter rivals moves onto the Sweet Sixteen and becomes one step closer to NCAA Champions.

Saturday’s match-up is the first since they met in the Sweet Sixteen in 2012.  Kentucky went on to prevail in that meeting.
