Pedestrian struck, killed on north side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A pedestrian was struck and killed on the north side Monday evening and police are searching for a vehicle involved.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. at the intersection of 86th Street and Township Line Road.

According to IMPD, the female victim, 24-year-old Shana Elliott, was walking southbound on Township Line Road. Police say while she was hit by two vehicles when she attempted to cross the street. She was first hit by a minivan who stayed at the scene and called 911. Police believe she was hit by a second car that was traveling eastbound on 86th Street. That vehicle fled the scene.

Elliot was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police that the vehicle that fled was an older brown work van, with a ladder on the back. The driver was seen fleeing north on Township Line Road.
