Suspect smashes then robs business on east side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police are investigating a robbery at an east side business.

It happened at City Gear on East 10th Street near Linwood Avenue around 3 a.m. Friday.

Police said a red truck crashed into the back door of the business. The crash caused enough damage to allow the suspect or suspects to get inside. Police said the suspect ran away with a pair of Nike shoes, but left the vehicle behind.

Police did not immediately provide a suspect description. No injuries were reported.
