Police identify person found dead on the near northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department have identified the person found dead in an alley on the city’s near northwest side.

According to IMPD, 54-year-old Dwight White was found dead from apparent gunshot wounds in the 800 block of West 26th Street just before 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

After arriving on scene, authorities pronounced White dead at the scene.

Police posted on social media that they did find White’s family, but still asked for help in the case.
