Remembering long-time editor and publisher of Danville paper

DANVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – Those who picked up the local Danville paper, The Republican, have been touched by Betty Weesner’s work.

Well-known in the city of Danville, Weesner was the long-time editor and publisher of the local weekly paper.

Weesner held her position at The Republican for nearly 60 years.

Now, many are in mourning as Weesner has passed away at the age of 90.

Dick Wolfsie talked to Weesner in 2005 about her career in and love of journalism.
