NASA telescope captures exploding star shockwave

HOUSTON (KXAN) – For the first time, the flash of an exploding star’s shockwave has been captured on video.

NASA’s telescope Kepler caught this star, nearly 300 times the size of the sun, blowing up.

The star was 1.2 billion light years away. While that may seem far, scientists say in space terms it’s fairly close to earth.
