Candlelight vigil spotlights hit-and-run victims

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Dozens of people came together Tuesday night to draw attention to a recent increase in hit-and-run crashes across central Indiana.

A candlelight vigil for crash victims was organized the family of Willie Banks.

Banks was seriously hurt after being hit by a car on March 6.

Police say he was hit while crossing East 38th Street, and the driver didn’t stop.

Banks suffered several broken bones. His family says the community must come together to stop hit-and-run crashes from happening.

Investigators say they don’t have any suspects in Banks’ case.
