Man drives car onto guardrail, arrested for OWI

BARTHOLOMEW CO, Ind. (WISH) – A driver was rescued from his vehicle after he drove it on top of a guardrail.

21-year-old Dylan Burns drove through a guardrail and his car was sitting on top of it. He was unable to get out of his car without falling into a watery ditch.

Police found his car on US 31 at 500 N early Tuesday morning.

Police say they had him escape by crawling through his sunroof.

While officers were talking to Burns, they smelled alcohol and saw he had glassy eyes and slurred speech.

Burns was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital. After his release, he was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle while Under the Influence.

He was released from the Bartholomew County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
