Sallie Mae offering new options for parents paying for college

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – New options will soon be available for parents paying for college, and AT&T is boosting data limits for home broadband users.

Sallie Mae will soon offer parent-student loans as a way to finance college.

The Wall Street Journal said under the program, parents would be able to borrow at interest rates of 3.75 percent to 13 percent. They would have 10 years to pay off the loans.

The new option will have upfront fees of some of other education loans.

The parent-student loans will roll out next month.

In other business news, AT&T is raising data limits on its home broadband plans.

It’s offering a new unlimited option to customers, as the carrier gears up to offer its DIRECT TV service over the internet later this year.

AT&T’s home internet users will be able to have unlimited data for $30 more a month.

For customers who use its DIRECT TV pay television service or its older U-VERSE home television service.

The unlimited service will be free.

The changes will go into effect May 23.
