Vermillion County Jailer arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated

VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – Police say a Vermillion County Jailer was arrested March 25 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

According to court documents, Lisa Armentrout went to the Clinton City Police Department to make a report. In the report she stated she was having issues with a landlord.

Police said while Armentrout was waiting for an officer to arrive, she drove to the library and gave a phone number to be contacted. They said she then met with an officer in the front lobby of the police station.

Police said after the officer was done speaking with her, she told the Police Chief he thought she was intoxicated. The officer reported she smelled of alcohol.

Armentrout was asked to return to a processing room for further conversation.

Police said she told officials she stopped drinking at 3:30 a.m. and had only driven from the police department to the library. She later changed her story that she had been driving around town.

Police said she had a BAC of .085 and was taken into custody for OWI.

Armentrout was taken to the Vermillion County Jail to be processed, then was taken to the Fountain County Jail to be housed.
