Kohl’s donates thousands to Riley Hospital for Children

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Kohl’s is being recognized for their generous donation.

Kohl’s donated $254,248 to Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health. The donation was to provide ongoing support for Kohl’s Caring For Our Kids.

The Riley Children’s Foundation program focuses on preventing child abuse and neglect and promoting positive parenting skills.

Every year in Indiana, there are about one hundred thousand incidents of child abuse or neglect reported.

“Kohl’s Caring For Our Kids serves a vital role in the best interest of children,” said Dr. Hibbard. “Increasing awareness of these efforts is paramount. To prevent child abuse and neglect, we must expose its terrible truths. It hits close to home for all of us, whether we’re aware of it or not. Together, we can reduce the number of children who suffer due to abuse, neglect or accidental injury.”

Kohl’s was able to make the donation through the Kohl’s Cares cause merchandise program. Through the program, Kohl’s sells $5 books and plush toys. 100 percent of net profit benefits children’s health programs nationwide, including hospital partners like Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health.

Since 2000, Kohl’s has donated more than $5 million to Riley Children’s Foundation and its initiatives.
