Mt. Vernon school employee charged with child seduction

FORTVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — A Mount Vernon school employee faces multiple felony charges after being accused of having sex with half a dozen students.

Fortville resident Kisha Nuckols has been placed on administrative leave by the Mount Vernon Community School Cooperation, where she had been a non-certified teacher’s aide, lifeguard, and substitute teacher for about three years.

School officials had heard rumors that the 38-year-old Nuckols had been sending inappropriate pictures of herself to a student via social media.

Court documents state that the school’s vice principal, Derek Shelton, contacted police on March 29, the same day he became aware of the rumors. However, Shelton said that the middle school’s principal, Scott Shipley, had been informed of the rumor on March 12.

Later that evening, police made contact with Nuckols, who came to the police department with her husband.

Initially stating that she thought the student was 18 years old, Nuckols later admitted to knowing he was 17. Court documents state the Nuckols also admitted to having an inappropriate relationship with one other current student and as well as four previous students.

Police also said that Nuckols admitted that some of the encounters were at her house while her husband and children were upstairs.

The student initially interviewed by police on March 29 said he and Nuckols also had encounters at the parking lot of Flat Fork Creek Park in Fishers multiple times.

A second student was interview on March 30. He said Nuckols contacted him via Snapchat, with the two arranging to meet and having an encounter in a car on the side of the road.

On Friday, the Hancock County Prosecutor’s Office charged Nuckols with three counts of child seduction and one count of dissemination of material harmful to minors, all felonies.
