Do you have a recipe that your friends just rave about? How about entering it into “The Hottest Kitchen Entrepreneur Challenge”?! Chef Jeffrey Alan Bricker, Ivy Tech Hospitality Department Chair, explains how you can enter and what judges are looking for.
Here are a few tips:
– We are looking for innovative food or beverage concepts – could be a bakery item, a new craft beer, or maybe even a new BBQ sauce.
– We will have 2 contest categories 1) start-up for completely new concepts 2) Early Stage -for food entrepreneurs who have been in business for a 5 years or less but need some extra help.

Today on Indy Style, Chef Bricker makes us his own Spinach Artichoke Dip recipe and pita chips, along with a simple salmon entree using his Sunny Honey Balsamic vinaigrette as a marinade.
Here is a recipe from last year’s challenge winner, the Indiana Pickle Company:
Layer an egg roll wrap diagonally with slice of meat, cream cheese and a pickle spear. Roll as you would an egg roll (from the diagonal, tucking in the sides as you roll.) Lay in pan, seam down then turning till cooked golden brown.
