INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) –¬†April is starting off on a cool and windy note across central Indiana.

A wind advisory will go into effect for much of the area Saturday morning. Expect wind gusts between 35-45 mph during the day, Saturday.

On top of the strong winds, colder temperatures will move into the state. Highs on Saturday will struggle to get out of the 40’s.

As winds settle down and skies clear Saturday evening, temperatures will fall quickly.

A freeze watch will go into effect Saturday night into Sunday morning. Expect temperatures to fall below freezing across all of central Indiana. This could damage or kill any cold weather sensitive plants that are not protected.

Temperatures on Sunday will remain below average, only topping out in the mid 50’s.
