BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — A man died in a crash on I-65 in Bartholomew County Saturday evening.
Emergency crews were called to I-65 northbound at the 58 mile marker around 5:45 p.m.
The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office says a pickup truck driven by 49-year-old William Floyd of Indianapolis was heading south on I-65 when it crossed the median and collided with a vehicle going north.
Floyd was cut from the vehicle by firefighters and pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities don’t know what caused him to cross the median.
The other vehicle, driven by 49-year-old Douglas Robinson of Indianapolis, hit the passenger side door of the pickup truck head-on, according to the sheriff’s office.
Robinson and his passenger, 41-year-old Heather Pickey of Indianapolis, were transported to the hospital. Robinson had a minor head injury and Pickey complained of pain, according to the sheriff’s office.
