Construction begins on busy stretch of road in Fishers

FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) — INDOT will begin construction on a busy stretch of road in Hamilton County Monday.

Crews are adding an interchange at 106th Street and Interstate 69 in an effort to reduce congested traffic. Monday, drivers will notice lane restrictions at 106th Street and I-69 and next week INDOT will close 106th Street.

By adding an interchange at 106th Street, the goal is to reduce traffic at the busy 96th Street and 116th Street interchanges.

INDOT expects the $22 million project to last through the end of the year. Before it’s all said and done, lanes will shift and crews will take out the bridge.
