Satellite image appears to show Nile River running red

EGYPT – An image of the Nile River was captured by the new Sentinel-3A satellite and it appears to show the river running red with blood.

According to the European Space Agency, the satellite measures energy from the Earth’s surface by using infrared. So, the red imaging doesn’t draw any comparison to the first plague of Egypt in the Book of Exodus.

The red areas show vegetation in infrared by the satellite’s radiometer, ESA said on their Facebook page. They also say the color data helps them understand the state of vegetation better.
