Beyoncé suing Texas company over copyright infringement

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Grammy winning singer Beyoncé is suing a company for selling “Feyoncé” gear.

Beyonce sued the Texas company, Feyoncé Inc, for selling merchandise that infringes on her copyrighted name.

The San Antonio company’s items include a coffee mug with “Feyoncé – He Put a Ring On It.”

The lawsuit said the mug was specifically designed to resemble Beyoncé’s 2008 hit, “Single Ladies.”

In addition, it also said the company ignored a previous cease and desist letter to stop selling the products.

The lawsuit comes one year after the singer’s lawyers complained to Etsy about “Feyoncé” mugs. Those items were removed, but other products labeled  “Feyoncé”  are still available for purchase.
