City hosting meetings to increase Indy recycling
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The city of Indianapolis is hosting a series of meetings to promote going green.
The mayor, city leaders and residents had the first of what will be a series of meetings Wednesday to discuss recycling.
Officials hope to boost the number of people recycling in the city.
A representative from the Citizen’s Action Coalition says public education has to be a part of the city’s efforts.
The deputy mayor says the cost of recycling is a big reason why people in the Circle City don’t do it.
He hopes this new push for recycling is an opportunity to start from scratch and develop a comprehensive plan to make the city more green.
