Tires slashed on 4 government vehicles in Johnson Co.

FRANKLIN, Ind. (WISH) – The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office has released surveillance video in a case of criminal mischief that it says left four government vehicles damaged.

The vandalism was discovered by county employees on Tuesday morning outside the main government building in Franklin.

The county coordinator, Barb Davis, reported four county-owned vehicles had tires that were slashed sometime in the overnight or early morning hours.

According to a report filed by the responding officer, Davis said a similar instance of vandalism happened the year before after which the county installed security cameras.

In the video, a group of four people is seen walking across a parking lot. It appears one of the suspects picks up a parking or road sign that was on the ground and starts ramming it into parked vehicles.

A second angle of the surveillance footage captures someone bending down at the tires of a parked SUV.

The time stamp on the videos is 1:37 a.m. Tuesday, April 5.

Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox has asked anyone with information about the suspects to call his office tip line at (317) 346-4654.
