Shooting victim arrives at hospital in critical condition

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A man walked into a Fort Wayne hospital early Friday morning after being shot, according to city emergency dispatchers.

Police said a woman dropped off the man at the hospital around 3:45 a.m. where he walked into the emergency room. The victim appeared to be suffering from gunshot wounds. A physician listed the man in critical condition.

Officials said paramedics immediately took him to another hospital. They said hospital security called police to notify them about the shooting victim.

The driver of the vehicle that transported the victim before police arrived left, but she later returned and was interviewed by detectives.

Investigators are looking for the scene of the shooting and don’t have any suspect information. They are working on getting more information once they are able to talk to the victim.
