Illuminating the canal: Floating candles spotlight sexual assault

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana is second in the nation when it comes to rape among high school girls.

Advocates and survivors gathered at the canal in downtown Indianapolis Tuesday to shed light on the issue.

The Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault set almost 200 floating candles in the canal.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

The CDC says a sexual assault happens every two minutes in the United States, and one in three Americans know a victim of sexual assault.
