Police: No charges for man who dumped woman’s body in dumpster

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department say no charges will be filed against the man who dumped a woman’s body in a recycling bin at least not at this point.

Sara Sydow was reported missing in September, her body turned up last month in a blue recycling bin near Golden in Santa Fe County. Police say the man who put her there claims they were partying together and he awoke to find her dead.

Police say there are no signs of foul play, the Office of the Medical Investigator has not ruled this homicide and at this point they are still determining if they will charge the man with improper disposal of a dead body. They say it’s just a misdemeanor.

As for tampering with evidence, an APD spokesperson says for that you must have evidence of a crime which at this point they don’t.

They say their investigation is ongoing.
