Zionsville police looking for suspect wanted for aggravated battery

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – Police are asking for the public’s identifying a man wanted for aggravated battery.

The Zionsville Police Department said on March 15, around 9:20 p.m. in the Austin Oaks subdivision, a black male approached a homeowners door and asked to borrow a set of pliers to assist him with fixing his vehicle.

Police said when the victim  gave the pliers to the suspect, the suspect pulled a handgun and pointed it at the victim. The victim and suspect then got into a physical altercation. Police said during the fight, the suspect shot the victim in the leg. The suspect then got into his vehicle and fled south from the home.

Authorities said the suspect wore dark clothing and drove an unknown type of vehicle. The suspect is armed with a handgun.
