First Indy 500 race finished strong with 26 cars
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The most cars left at the end of the Indianapolis 500 race was 26, in 1911.
The first race of the Indy 500 finished with 26 cars renaming. It happened again in 2013.
In 1966 the Indy 500 finished with the fewest cars left – seven.
