Toddler run over, injured in buggy accident
STEUBEN CO., Ind. (WANE) Police say a two-year-old boy was sent to the hospital after he fell from a buggy and was run over.
According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded in the 5900 hundred block of East Teegarden Road, southeast of Angola, around 8:00 p.m. Friday.
Authorities said a family was returning home when, for an unknown reason, the horse pulling the buggy started jerking back and forth. Investigators said the boy fell out of the buggy and then was run over in the upper chest area.
The child was then taken to a Fort Wayne hospital by helicopter. The victim’s condition was not available as of early Saturday morning.
The Stueben County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Steuben County EMS, Steuben County Communications, Hamilton Fire Rescue and the Metz Fire Department.
