IU investigating reported student rape

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — Indiana University police are investigating after a student reported being raped.

It happened near campus, in the area of Bryan Avenue, around midnight Sunday morning, according to IU police.

IU police say a 19-year-old woman was walking alone after a party when three men approached and forced her to the ground. Two of the men held her down while a third raped her, according to IU police. Police do not believe the men were armed.

The suspects are described as three white men. One man was short in height, had short hair and scruffy facial hair. One was wearing shorts and a tank top. Another was wearing shorts and a T-shirt, and the third had cammo shorts and a tank top, the victim told police.

IUPD issued an alert to students around 2:45 a.m.
