Colts return to work ahead of 2016 season

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – It was week nine of the 2015 season.

That week brought with it the hit that took Andrew Luck out for the rest of the year with a lacerated kidney. But five months later, the quarterback feels like his old self.

“Yeah, I feel very good,” said Andrew Luck. “I feel like rolling around, running around and having fun.”

“He looked great out there working out. I told him he looked good, I looked good, But you know, we missed each other,” said T.Y. Hilton.

2015 was the most challenging season of Luck’s NFL career, but he admits this injury is behind him.

“No, I still l have some work to do certainly. That being said, you’re always working to get better. You’re always working to feel better. You’re always working to be in better shape, to be more physically fit, so that’s still a process,” said Luck.

The Colts began voluntary off-season workouts today that will run for the next month. Now this team is extra motivated, especially after finishing 8-8 last season, and missing out on the playoffs.

“We have to do better and we will do better this year. We faced a lot of adversity last year,” said Kendall Langford. “It’s no excuse, but it is what it is, and on to the next one.”

“We have to come in and do what we’re capable of, and that’s finish the job. We want to win the Super Bowl. Make no bones about it. It’s not a prediction, it’s an expectation. And we have to work towards it,” said Robert Mathis.

That mission started Monday.
