Four girls now accuse Florida school bus driver of molestation

DAVENPORT, Fla. (WFLA) A former Polk County school bus driver is now accused of molesting four female students. Detectives say Carlos Ojeda, 72, lured the children with candy. They believe he may have abused more students who have not yet come forward.

Ojeda is scheduled to appear in court on Monday afternoon on multiple counts of capital sexual battery.

On Friday, he was charged for sexually assaulting two female special needs students who are under the age of 12. Detectives say surveillance video from the school bus showed Ojeda molesting the girls. Later in the evening, detectives announced they had found two more female victims. All four of the victims rode on Ojedas school bus.

Polk County Sheriffs Office detectives interviewed the two new victims on Friday. Both victims, who are females under the age of 12 years old, disclosed they were sexually abused by Ojeda at least one time each in the same manner as the previously identified two other victims, while riding on a bus he drove. Both victims said Ojeda gave them candy after abusing them.

Ojeda has been charged with two additional counts of capital sexual battery.

He is being held without bond in the Polk County Jail.

According to the Polk County School Board, Ojeda drove a school bus for three different schools: Bus number 0603 for Horizons Elementary, Boone Middle, and Ridge Community High.

He has been employed as a PCSB bus driver since April 2007 and the school board has suspended him without pay. Ojedas salary was $11,700.

If anyone has information or suspicions about Ojeda they are urged to contact Lieutenant Ian Rylott at 863-298-6200.
