Low oil prices benefiting airlines

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – How much will Americans pay for their taxes this year? Also, lower oil prices are helping airlines.

In 2016, Americans will pay about 20 percent more for their federal, state and local taxes than for their housing, food and clothing combined, according to an analysis by the tax foundation, a nonpartisan tax research organization.

In other business headlines, low oil prices are helping the airlines. Detla posted strong quarterly results last week, boosted by low fuel prices. This week, American Airlines and Southwest are expected to say the same thing.
