DALEVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – A Daleville Community School custodian is on paid leave and faces several charges after allegations of an improper relationship with a student at the high school.
Daleville Community Schools sent a letter to parents Monday afternoon about the situation.
On Monday afternoon, April 18, we were made aware of allegations of an improper relationship between a non-teaching staff member and a student [at the high school]. The administration immediately investigated the allegations and within the first hour of that investigation, turned the matter over to law enforcement and contacted the Indiana Department of Child Services. The administration then instructed the employee, who was not on campus during the investigation, that he was being placed on unpaid leave pending completion of termination procedures and that he was not permitted on campus, or at any Daleville Community Schools extracurricular event, activity or function.
Daleville Chief of Police said he was informed on Monday that Saturday, April 16 the suspect, Brady Blue Milam, 41, brought the 14-year-old female victim into the high school, then into a small room of the gym and had sexual relations.
Milam, was arrested Monday around 9 p.m. He is being charged for child molestation and sexual misconduct with a minor. Police said it’s possible more charges could be filed because he may have tried to have another relationship with a 14-year-old at the school.
The case is still under investigation.
