Father convicted in death of infant daughter

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A man was found guilty Tuesday in the death of his two-month-old daughter.

According to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, Christopher Schafer was convicted of Murder and Battery on a Child Less than 14-years-old Causing Death.

The infant died in September 2014, as a result of blunt force trauma to the head and leg.

Schafer told investigators he was frustrated that the child was not taking her bottle and would not go back to sleep. He admitted to handling her roughly.

Schafer is scheduled to be sentenced May 2.
