Nashville man arrested after police find heroin in pants

BROWN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Police arrested a Nashville man on felony drug charges after conducting undercover surveillance.

According to 24-Hour News 8’s partner the Brown County Democrat, Sean M. Elkins was arrested April 12.

A detective with the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement section had been watching a home Elkins was living in, which was in the 4200 block of State Road 46. Police were watching the home after receiving tips that Elkins was involved in the sale and distribution of heroin.

Police said while the detective was watching the home, a gold Jeep Cherokee left the home with an expired vehicle registration. The detective then contacted an Indiana State Police Trooper to pull the vehicle over.

The trooper pulled over the Jeep in the area of Lower Schooner Road and State Road 46. When the officer approached the Jeep, he reported seeing Elkins in the passenger seat hiding something in his pants. A box containing several syringes was found in his pants. One was loaded with heroin.

Elkins was arrested and taken to the Brown County Jail. He was charged with possession of a narcotic drug and unlawful possession of a syringe.
