Make-A-Wish Indiana hosts fundraising gala

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — It takes money to grant a wish and Friday night, enough was raised to make dozens of dreams come true.

It was thanks to the 11th annual Make-A-Wish “Big Wish” fundraising gala at the JW Marriott. Fifteen local “wish kids” were there wearing their superhero capes to help celebrate.

Hailey Blevins had her wish come true in April, when she went to Hawaii with her family.

“I think it’s very important for other people to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, that, yeah, this is really bad right now but this Make-A-Wish really helps you to open your eyes and kind of smile for a minute,” said Make-A-Wish Kid, Hailey Blevins.

Each wish costs $8,000 to $10,000 to grant. The goal for the night was to raise enough money to grant 70 wishes for Indiana kids.
