Police release photo of suspect in IU fraternity vandalism

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — The Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house at Indiana University was vandalized in the early morning hours on Friday.

Police have released a photo of the suspect, who is also believed to have vandalized eight vehicles in the house’s parking lot.

Police said black spray paint was used to paint various phrases and symbols onto the outside of the house and vehicles.

Police said a swastika and a smiley face were among the symbols painted. Police said the symbols seemed to be painted on at random and do not indicate the crime was motivated by any sort of bias.

Damage is estimated to be between $5,000 and $10,000.
