IMS to air Indy 500 inspired movie ‘Winning’

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Hollywood and IMS will come together May 19 for the 1969 Paul Newman film “Winning.”

The film will be shown at IMS as part of its Indy Film Festival’s roving cinema series. The film is about a race driver who dreams of winning the biggest race of all time – the Indianapolis 500.

Actor Paul Newman’s career in racing covered over 35 years. Newman was trained for the movie by race car drivers and his enthusiasm for motor sports began thanks to his role in this film.
