Putting down the playbook: Andrew Luck starts a book club

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback Andrew Luck launched a new book club Monday.

Luck wanted it to be a social media experience for anyone who wanted to join.

According to the release, he will post book suggestions periodically and people can comment on the website and social media.

There will be two suggestions: One for “rookies,” or books that Luck enjoyed when he was younger, and one for “veterans.”

Luck will host live Q&A sessions to speak with the members of his book club.

“I have always loved to read and have my parents and grandparents to thank for introducing me to the enjoyment of reading at a young age,” said Luck. “People ask me all the time what I’m reading or if I have any suggestions of what they should read. And, when the topic of starting a book club came up over and over again, I figured it was time to put something together. I’m really excited to see this get off the ground and I’m looking forward to building a community of readers online and through social media.”

The first two recommended books are “Maniac Magee” by Jerry Spinelli and “The Boys in the Boat” by Daniel James Brown.
