Car runs red light, hit by semi-truck

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Crews spent hours cleaning up a crash in downtown Fort Wayne early Tuesday morning.

Police at the scene told 24-Hour News 8’s sister station, WANE, that a car driving west on E. Washington Boulevard ran a red light and was struck by a semi truck heading north on Lafayette Street.

The car came to a stop after hitting a utility pole. The truck jackknifed in the middle of Lafayette Street

Lafayette St., between E. Washington Boulevard and Berry Street remained closed for hours as crews cleaned up the debris from both vehicles. The road has since been reopened. Firefighters worked to contain fluid leaking out of the truck.

Nobody was injured in the incident.
