Talk Walk Run helps kids with hearing loss

Indianapolis (WISH) – The birds are singing, the wind is rustling in through the trees and there’s a murmur of excitement as the runners and walkers get ready for the Talk Walk Run.  Many people take these sounds for granted, but not 7 year old Jacob Steel.  Jacob is this year’s Talk Walk Run ambassador.  He was born with hearing loss but thanks to Hear Indiana and his bilateral hearing aids he, and kids like him, can hear all the sounds of the Talk Walk Run.

The Talk Walk Run is a beautiful walk for the entire family or the perfect training run! The challenging course wraps around a lake in the rolling hills of Fort Harrison State Park. Select the competitive run (5K or 10K), or just take a relaxing stroll. Whether or not you participate in the run/walk, please join us from 10am-12:30pm for delicious and plentiful food, carnival games, face-painting, balloon art, and entertainment featuring Special Guest: Jonathan Hutcherson, contestant from the Voice who has worn hearing aids since the age of two.

Register in person on Friday April 29th from 5-8pm at Hear Indiana (4740 Kingsway Dr., Indianapolis, IN) or Saturday April 30th from 7:30-8:30am at Fort Harrison State Park.

WISH-TV is a proud sponsor of Hear Indiana’s Talk Walk Run presented by PNC.
