5 things to know about Wednesday evening weather

1) The National Weather Service in Indianapolis confirmed that an EF-0 tornado touched down Tuesday evening in northern Greene County. Estimated wind speeds were 85 mph, and the tornado was on the ground for only 0.10 of a mile. Several barns were damaged, but no one was injured.

2) Showers and storms return to central Indiana Wednesday afternoon and evening. The rain will come in several waves, with a few hours of dry time in between. Expect rain chances to continue through the overnight leading into daybreak Thursday.

3) There is a marginal risk for severe storms Wednesday. Main concern will be large hail and damaging winds.

4) Another round of rain is expected Thursday. On and off light showers will be in the forecast for the entire day, but there should be some dry hours squeezed in between the isolated showers.

5) We’ll dry out briefly on Friday and into Saturday morning before another round of rain and storms move in Saturday afternoon and continues all day Sunday. Seven day rain totals could range between 1 and 3 inches.
