IMPD officer injured in crash, driver arrested for DUI

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis police officer was injured in a crash on the northeast side of the city Wednesday evening.

It happened around 10 p.m. at 38th Street and Keystone Avenue.

IMPD says the officer was heading west on 38th Street when a car turned in front of him.

The officer was taken to the hospital with knee pain.

The driver of the car was taken into custody for DUI. It will be considered a felony since he had a previous conviction within the past five years, according to police.
