Bartholomew Co. crash claims the life of Columbus man
COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) – A serious crash involving a vehicle and a semi in Bartholomew County claims the life of a Columbus man.
Police said the crash involved a vehicle and a semi on 25th Street, east of CR 500 East around 12:54 p.m. Friday.
Officials said it appears the westbound vehicle, veered into the eastbound lane of travel and collided with the eastbound semi tractor trailer. Police are investigating why the vehicle veered into the eastbound lane.
The driver of the vehicle who passed away is identified as Samuel Winick, 24, Columbus, Indiana.
The driver of the semi is identified as Gregory Freeman, 65, Columbus, Ohio.
Police are investigating the crash.
