Driver suffers heart attack, dies in SR 3 crash
LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) A 60-year-old Stroh man was killed early Thursday when his van crashed and police discovered he suffered a heart attack.
Police and medics were called around 8 a.m. to S.R. 3 near C.R. 1000S after a van veered off S.R. 3 and crashed.
According to a crash report, Craig Harp, 60, of Stroh was driving southbound on S.R. 3 in a 1999 Oldsmobile Silhouette when a witness behind the van said it slowed and “for no apparent reason” drove off the west side of the roadway and crashed into a fence row.
Police arrived and medics took Harp to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, where he was pronounced dead, according to the report.
The report said Harp suffered a heart attack, which led to the crash.
