Five things to know about this weekend’s weather

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Yesterday’s storms left damage behind but thankfully no reports of injuries. The EF-1 tornado in Boone County had winds of 100 mph. It’s width was 40 yards and it traveled for 0.2 miles.

Today has been quiet and dry across central Indiana allowing for clean up in areas hit by the storms.

This break will only last through tonight as rain returns this weekend along with storms. Some strong to severe storms are possible.

Here’s what you need to know:

  1. Saturday will start cloudy with scattered rain in the morning.
  2. Afternoon and evening storms will develop.
  3. Strong storms will be capable of producing damaging wind and hail.
  4. Tornadoes can’t be ruled out.
  5. There is a marginal risk for severe storms south of Indy. It includes Greencastle, Bloomington, Columbus and Terre Haute. A slight risk for southwest Indiana near Evansville.
