Hamilton County officials rescue 6 ducklings

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – The Hamilton County Animal Control came to the rescue for six ducklings.

Carmel Police Department officers witnessed a mother duck get hit by a car near 146th Street and Hazel Dell Road. The six ducklings fell into a storm drain and the police department called in backup.

CSO officer Webb was called, along with County Animal Control Officer Doug Sanborn to the scene. They were able to rescue the ducklings and release them back into the wild with another mother duck for safety.

According to the sheriff department’s Facebook page, animal control usually deals with domestic animal issues but on occasion will assist with wild animals in emergency situations.
