Police chase ends in crash and foot race on east side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – After a car chase and a foot race, police have two people in custody.

It started when an IMPD officer tried to pull over a car for not stopping at a stop sign early Friday morning.

The car didn’t stop near Southeastern Avenue and Keystone Avenue.

It kept going, through more stop signs and police started chasing it.

They chased the car to Marlowe Avenue near Highland Avenue. That’s when the driver lost control of the car and hit a parked car.

Both the passenger and driver tried to run after the crash.

Police caught up with them after a few blocks and took them into custody. Officers found a handgun and stolen clothing. The passenger tried to take the stolen clothing with him while running from police.

The investigation in ongoing.
