5 things to know about the Sunday forecast

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Before getting your Sunday started, here are some things you need to know about the forecast.

1)  We hit 92° in Indianapolis, Saturday.  It marks the first time in 2016 that we have hit 90°, and only falling 4° shy of the record high for the date.  We average around four 90° days for the month of June.

2)  Well above average temperatures continue Sunday for most of central Indiana.  While a cold front will be moving through Sunday afternoon, keeping some of our northern counties in the low to mid 80s, areas around Indy and south should see numbers hovering around 90° again Sunday.

3)  A few isolated showers and storms may develop as a cold front moves in from the north Sunday afternoon.  Storms should form along I-70 and point south.

4) Humidity will remain moderate and noticeable Sunday, allowing for heat index values to hit the low 90s for many Sunday afternoon.

5)  Drier air will move in Sunday night, allowing for a little more comfort in the air overnight.  Lows will dip to the lower 60s.
