Butler-Tarkington marks 200 days without a homicide

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Butler-Tarkington neighborhood residents are marking 200 days without a homicide.

The Ten Point Coalition joined residents Sunday afternoon for a public safety rally and march at 38th Street and Meridian Street.

The neighborhood has been a community hit especially hard by homicides in recent years, but the last one in the area was October 12 of last year.

Leaders say the neighborhood association, IMPD and the Ten PoInt Coalition have been able to take back control of the area with the help of residents.
