Trial date set for former VCSC custodian arrested for child solicitation

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A trial date has been set for a former Vigo County School custodian arrested for child solicitation.

Michael Rowe, 40 of Terre Haute, faces charges of child solicitation and dissemination of matter harmful to minors after he was arrested last week.

The Jasper Police Department said they created a 13-year-old decoy for an undercover investigation. They report Rowe contacted that decoy on the internet. Records indicate he sent several texts and nude photos to the decoy.

Vigo County School Corporation Superintendent Danny Tanoos said Rowe resigned from his job as a custodian at McLean High School last week.

Rowe’s trial date is set for Oct. 3 and his next court appearance is May 19.
