24-Hour News 8 named ‘Outstanding News Operation’

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indiana Associated Press Broadcasters Association has honored WISH-TV with its top award; naming 24-Hour News 8 “Outstanding News Operation.” WISH-TV also received the “Best Station Photojournalism” award honoring its outstanding photography staff.

“We’re honored to be named Outstanding News Operation. Whether it’s breaking news or weather, or digging deeper into a story, our commitment is to provide viewers coverage that impacts their daily lives,” said Les Vann, WISH-TV president and general manager. “This award, along with Best Station Photojournalism, represent the continued dedication of our team, and the quality storytelling they provide Central Indiana viewers every day across all our platforms.”

In addition to “Outstanding News Operation,” and “Best Station Photojournalism,” WISH-TV took 2nd place for “Best Community Impact” for its annual “Tweet for Toys” holiday toy collection campaign.

The Associated Press Broadcasters Association awards were presented at the IAPBA Spring Meeting and Awards Banquet held on Saturday, April 30, at the Sheraton Indianapolis City Centre Hotel.
